My Goals……….

– I want to win races and championships and I know I have what it takes to achieve this.

– I passionately want to be the best and will do whatever it takes to learn all areas of my craft.

– My ambition is to compete in the Porsche SuperCup for a top team, win races and the championship. (This is one of the support races to F1 Grand Prix)

So Far……….

– I have won races and awards with much media interest including national radio and newspaper interviews.

– I am proved I am succssfull, determind, tenacious, focused, fit, firey – a winner

Now…….

– I am being offered drives in a number of different championships both in the UK and in Europe which is great. It means that I have impressed in the racing I have competed in to date.

And…….

– I have achieved this completely on my own with very little support using my own (borrowed) money. I know its a little crazy but I am passionate about racing and have huge and provable self-belief. I am not adversed to taking risks – even financial – to achieve my ambitions. BUT these have all been calculated risks with a huge will to work like crazy to make this happen.

What Could I Achieve If……….

– I had some solid financial backing?

What Could I Give Back……….

– Seriously, I can’t do this on my own and would work with a sponsor, partner, company, individual to make sure their objectives (marketing, business, PR, hospitality etc) are not only met but are exceeded. Its the way I work – everything I do is done to my best ability. (One of the awards I have been selected as a winner of was for my understanding of the sponsorship process and business aswell as my on track talent and my marketability)

– I would love to make motorsport more accessible to everyone. Unfortunately it is still mostly an expensive sport for a privileged few (mostly men) and if I can make it even a little more accessible then I would love to do that too. Motorsport is one of the greatest sports for so many reasons and I would relish the opportunity to convey this mainly through speaking engagements, promotion, charity events, my web site, this blog, a YouTube video diary and anything else I can think of.

So………..

– Do you know any decision makers (Managing Directors, Marketing Directors,CEOs) in leading companies who would be interested in arranging a meeting?

– Do you know an individual who would be interested?

– I’m thinking brands like sports, car related, health and fitness industry, clothing, extreme brands, brands who want to embrace adventure, speed etc.

– Any other ideas (within reason), connections……………?

Taking an example of London roads there isn’t much difference : ) If any of you guys has ever driven flat out over a period of time on a track then you will know there is a huge difference.

The good thing is that driving on a track and learning some basic techniques, I think makes you a much better driver on the road especially in difficult driving conditions and in reacting to circumstances. Techniques like using your peripheral vision to sense where other cars are placed in relation to yourself, braking in a straight line, understanding how a car loads under braking, steering etc are great to use on the road.

Well what I really want to write about is how my race was at the weekend but yet again I wasn’t racing. I did however get to blast round a small track a couple of times in someone else’s car which is always good. Some good advice coming up – DON’T WRECK YOUR OWN CAR – BORROW SOMEONE ELSE’S!! (In a legal kinda way!) (Disclaimer to follow!!)

Stuff is progressing though. OK so I came to the conclusion after my few races in the UK Elf Renault Clio Cup Championship that maybe I couldn’t rely on my branding and marketing being 100% successful. Therefore I should take control of the situation and earn the money to race myself. Not an easy option as I have worked out I need to quadruple my income to achieve this. But where there’s a will………………and there most definitely is……….there is hopefully soon to be proved there maybe, just maybe a way. Does that sound a bit vague? Good – coz I have no idea how this plan will work but there is something in the pipeline. I will be adding a blog when its ready and hopefully you guys out there may help me out a little (and there will be something in it for everyone).

I’m still working flat out in design/architecture in London (having earlier this year been commissioned to re-design the ITSU sushi bar in Piccadilly), fitness training as I like to stay in shape, working on sponsorship, networking, writing blogs, and working on 2 areas to earn money to race……….not much time left in the day after that!

Will keep doing whatever it takes………….I promised myself that a number of years ago and will never give up on racing.

So eventually this blog has nothing to do with driving on a race track/road driving – is that what happens when you start compiling a blog? (It seems like there is a pattern emerging 🙂
